Choosing Freedom: Embracing God’s Plan Over the World’s Hustle
You don’t have to settle for a life that feels unfulfilling, just to make ends meet. God has given each of us unique gifts, talents, and creativity—not so we can simply survive, but so we can thrive in alignment with His purpose. When we’re honest with Him and seek His guidance, He will provide the direction we need.
I won’t lie, though—the journey isn’t always easy. God often leads us through a “wilderness period” to shift our mindset from the world’s perspective to His kingdom mindset. This transformation peels away our selfish desires and refocuses us on impact—impact in our homes, with our children, in our marriages, through our careers or businesses, and most importantly, within ourselves.
You won’t come out of this process the same. But when you fully grasp that you weren’t created just to work and pay bills, but to experience the fullness of what God has for you here on earth, your perspective changes. Every aspect of your life—your household, your relationships, your work—becomes an opportunity to create meaningful impact.
The world might tell you differently. It promotes the hustle culture, the grind, and the endless pursuit of more. But we weren’t made to conform to the world’s twisted perspective. As believers, we were created to stand out, to live with intention, and to follow God’s pace, not the world’s.
I wish I had understood this sooner. For so long, I carried the weight of hustle—chasing after what the world said I needed to do to succeed. But now, I’ve learned to trust God’s process. I’ve been freed from that burden and instead walk in His timing, knowing He has a plan for my life that’s far better than anything I could create on my own.
Let me be clear: I’m not saying you should quit your job tomorrow or make drastic changes all at once. But if you’re unhappy with the life you’re living, start by taking it to God. Ask Him for clarity, strategy, and the courage to take the next step. He will meet you where you are and guide you toward the life He’s designed for you.
Trust the process. It won’t happen overnight, but with God, every step is purposeful. You don’t have to live a life you’re unhappy with—freedom, fulfillment, and impact are possible when you choose to walk with Him.
