From Survival to Stewardship: Redefining Success for Generational Impact
For so many of us, the struggle to escape financial insecurity is all too real. Without generational wealth to fall back on, we often find ourselves starting from scratch, racing to “go get the bag” so we can finally feel stable, prove to others that we’ve made it, and show that we came from “nothing” and succeeded. But in the process, we can sometimes miss a critical piece of the equation: Who are we becoming in the process?
It’s not enough to simply escape the struggle and reach financial security. True success goes beyond personal achievement—it’s about developing our character, prioritizing self-development, and learning how to properly steward the resources we’ve worked so hard to attain. Financial success without growth in other areas often leaves us chasing the next goal or feeling unfulfilled, unable to create a meaningful impact on the people and world around us.
As a business owner, I know how easy it is to feel the pressure to charge for everything we do—after all, our businesses sustain our lifestyles. But I also believe there’s a responsibility to share what we’ve learned and teach others how to rise from their struggles without expecting something in return. It’s about breaking cycles for yourself and creating opportunities for others to do the same.
